The album is the culmination of several years of work between the three musicians Anders Filipsen, Rune Lohse and Casper Nyvang Rask. The album has been added to New York City Jazz Record’s recommended New Releases and the press has described the album:

“There is so much basic love and warmth in the music.” Jazznyt, DK
"The Filipsen Trio enjoys experimenting with Filipsen’s clever, genre-transcending, and uplifting sonic vision in perpetual transformation and organic, almost telepathic dynamics...In each of these short pieces, Filipsen’s Trio challenges the conventions of the classic jazz trio and searches for new sonic options, egalitarian interplay, and energetic drive." Salt Peanuts, No
“An irresistible earworm...With the Anders Filipsen Trio, everything revolves around tension in a film noir... Absolute recommendation. “ Jazzhalo, Be

NOVEMBER 2023
Debutalbum out with MESMER. Out on Arbitrary. The debutalbum is a series of (deconstructed) live-recordings taken from three live concerts. The sounds on this record entails two years of sound research and creative outbursts with inspiration from field trips mainly from the areas in the outskirts of Copenhagen. Intrigued and fascinated by the auditive landscapes of places where nature and culture meet and challenge each other.
Listening to the field-recordings led Mesmer to interpret the moods, musical qualities and inherited energy of the sounds in these areas. Thus creating melodies, harmonies and rhythmical structures that together with the field recordings paved the way for this album.
MESMER consists of the three musicians and composers Emil Jensen, Victor Dybbroe and Anders Filipsen, who have been creating music together the last 15 years in various groups. MESMER is fascinated by how sound (and lack of) influences us as people and how the different natural and cultural environments creates different musical scenarios.
Hope you enjoy this album and encourage you to listen and dive into the music wherever you are, welcoming the sounds that are already present in your environment.
