ORDEN & KAOS
PORTFOLIO
FILIPSEN // BOLT
The audio-visual duo Anders Filipsen and Ditte Bolt present the audio-visual work 'Orden & Kaos'.
The work is an investigation of our relationship to how chaotic conditions can coexist with calm and structured contexts and thus also questions our relationship to the balance between chaos and order - can these qualities change meaning for the individual and which frameworks require order and chaos respectively in us individually?
Ditte Bolt is a photo and video artist and in this work she has worked with video recordings that, through manipulation and pulse, transform sequences between order and chaos. Anders Filipsen is a composer and musician and the sound in the work is created with 5 synthesizers and real sound and is a mixture of composed and more abstract and freely improvised processes.
The work has been created with a focus on the interactive, so that real sound recordings and video sequences in the work include recordings from the local audience, who thus help to shape and shape the content of the work and thus give a voice to the audience's own relationship to order and chaos in their local environment .
Anders Filipsen works in the cross-section between improvisation and composition as well as acoustic and electronically/manipulated sound. His expression draws equally inspiration from modern classical music as well as avantgarde jazz, improv and electronic music.
He is a member of the internationally recognized artist-collective ILK and he has created numerous installationconcerts where sound and a.o. dance, food, light, video and poetry interacts. He has a.o. worked and played with John Tchicai, Kresten Osgood, Nastio Mosquito, Jakob Kullberg, Daniel Bjarnasson, Stefan Pasborg, Kasper Tranberg and groups such as Travelling Tribes, The Black Nothing, The Firebirds as well as chamber-ensembles. He has with his own groups appeared on Roskilde Festival as well as solo-performances at National Gallery of Denmark and toured all over Europe.
Visual artist Ditte Bolt has, among other things, exhibited at the Copenhagen Photo Festival, Galleri Stalke, the Spring Exhibition and created installations for and at the Roskilde Festival. She has also been a strong driving force within the underground environment in terms of creating exhibitions at alternative locations. Her expression is characterized by a focus on moods from past dramas and incidents, and in capturing this she uses, among other things, media such as photography, video, painting and installations in her work.
She describes her expression and work as follows:“I am particularly attracted to twilight, heavy and strong colours, tight compositions and the hidden. That which is not there when I take the picture, but which may have been there - a little while ago, yesterday or centuries ago. The memory of something that happened, perhaps the subconscious or something you dreamed...
